About Us

The Center for Positive Sexuality was founded by Emily Prior in 2007. Emily currently has a BA in Psychology with minors in Anthropology and Human Sexuality. She is actively working towards becoming a certified sex educator. Emily has taught high school and college level Human Sexuality classes for several years covering a wide range of topics from STD prevention, biology and physiology, sexual health, sexual dysfunction, paraphilias, intimacy and relationships, and more.

The Center for Positive Sexuality was developed with the idea that people not only need to be educated about sex and sexuality, but that everyone needs to be able to see these topics portrayed from a positive, healthy perspective. Sex and sexuality are normal, natural parts of being human and should be explored as a part of everyone's development.

The Center for Positive Sexuality is headquartered in Los Angeles, CA and has given presentations at various conferences and conventions across the U.S. Please follow this link for more information or to request a presentation.

Currently, we are organizing and presenting on the topics of Healthy Relationships Through Communication, Polyamory, and BDSM: Fact & Fiction for colleges, universities, and other groups. Future endeavors include a presentation on Gender & Orientation, as well as gathering materials for a publicly accessible research library on sexuality.
